Please read the following. It summarizes my notes of October 6, 2007, beautifully. Thank you, Robert Parry, wherever you are!

This Just In: Nothing is Happening- But Hope Springs Eternal!

O.K. I confess: frequently...too frequently...sometimes several times a day, I call up Google News to see if any change has occurred in the country's action against the Bush administration.

It's undoubtedly a clinical problem.

Again, and again, I am disappointed, and reality briefly sets in again for the umpteenth time: nothing is happening. And for a few seconds, I realize it's possible it may never happen.

There have been worse tragedies in the history of the World, and it is not hard to think of how those suffering silent masses must have felt when things were the darkest. As though it would never end. But usually, eventually, the Sun shone again, and some kind of justice occurred.

It probably will happen here too, but for now, the state of our country is not good.

HOORAY FOR BRATTLEBORO!

At least a few people in America have some cajones.

Besides Keith Olbermann, the only prominent commentator to forcefully speak against this terrible administration, a tiny town in Vermont seems to be speaking bravely against the thundering silence that has paralyzed our country since 2000.

The BushCheneyRoveRice bunch has totally intimidated our country into giving up our most sacred possession: the First Amendment.

The mainstream media, either out of fear of losing revenue, or just plain cowardice, has allowed this administration to commit crime after crime and tell lie after lie, where thousands of our own kids, and maybe hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, may have died or have become maimed. Millions of Iraqis have become displaced as refugees.

Let's give it up for those brave Vermonters, who have the guts to speak out in our own country, which has become terrorized by our leaders, to retreat from using our own First Amendment.

Democrats in Congress: And The Silence Goes On!

As the time races by, the Democrats in Congress continue to do nothing to counter the crimes and malfeasance of the Bush-Cheney administration.

Conyers has retreated. Schumer helped give us "I don't know what torture is " Mukasey. Pelosi is still keeping impeachment off the table. Reid says nothing.

A few brave communities, mainly in the Northeast, have voted to express themselves locally against the crimes of Bush, but the Democrats in Washington are holding back.

What are they afraid of?

If it's failure they are worried about, they look much worse by failing to act than failing by not taking action.

It appears they are choosing to fail by not acting.

QUANDRY: HOW TO COPE WITH A FAILING DEMOCRATIC PARTY!

Now in this, the beginning of the last year of this terrible administration, it appears that the Democratic leaders in the House and Senate will probably not act to address the possible crimes that have been commited.

They (meaning at least Pelosi and Reid, and maybe even Schumer and Conyers) seem not to be willing to use the Constitution and our laws to address the numerous suspected crimes of Bush and his cronies.

This is a great disappointment to those of us who have been loyal Democrats, with long histories of continual support to the Democratic Party and its policies.

It is also a disappointment to those of us who consider ourselves true and patriotic citizens of our country, and who have faith in our national and legal principles.

If there were a viable third party which incorporated the ideals and concepts of the Democratic Party that we thought we knew, I believe many of us would support that party now as an alternative to the Democratic Party as it is currently functioning.

WHO HAS GOTTEN TO KUCINICH AND CONYERS? THE CIA? THE MAFIA?

Why have Kucinich and Conyers backed down from their plans for impeachment?

Who has initimidated them?

Do Bush and Cheney have such frightening allies that they could cause these experienced politicians to withdraw their promises?

What kind of threats could have been made to them, and by whom?

TOO LATE FOR IMPEACHMENT. TIME FOR INDICTMENT!

We've waited too long. It's well past the eleventh hour.

We will never be able to impeach the b*******s now.

It's time for a criminal investigation of at least Bush and Cheney, and possibly Rove, Rumsfeld, Gonzales and who ever else in this abysmal administration who has possibly committed crimes.

The time is now.

Carpe Diem!
